Been wanting to try Bamboo Roving?   What about Tencel?   Go check out HollyEQQ.com!
This is the Tencel:

And in a week or two I will have up some dyed bamboo roving!!! It requires a different type of dye, so I have to fire up a special pot - maybe this weekend. But right NOW you can get the Natural Bamboo, which is beautiful:

And Batts!! Lots and lots of Batts!!!

And SIX !!! New yarns!! Count them.... one, two, three, four, FIVE, SIX.....mwahhhhahhhhaaaaahhh!!

Yup, need caffeine - sleep - and to be off ON FRIDAY. Whoohoooo.   I love Good Friday - it will be a GREAT Friday if I can get out to the beach!

how do you dye the bamboo? acid dyes work fine?

I dyed some bamboo for myself with Acid and it was light,purple pastel... too much so for me. I have some fiber reactive and some landscape dyes that I will try next. I also have bamboo loose fibers and they took the fiber reactive just fine but NADA with the acid.

The tencel took the acid dyes just fine. :)
Funny how similar fibers dye so differently.

ooh, thank you but I actually ahve some! I have not attempted to dye it though! I have some fiber reactive dyes so I have to give them a try. They are such a pain in the ass though, I hate it!

Yup, me too!! I love the way it looks though...especially on silk. The colors just POP!
And I am a sucker for these types of fibers. I love wool, but seeing as that I am already wearing shorts and SWEATING to death in April, it makes it hard to wear wool for more than a couple months a year. I can wear the other fibers for about 5 months out of the year so I guess I have to like them.
I bought some cotton from Laurie around Christmas and kept thinking I would dye it up to sell this spring. But now it is selling just plain white, so I am not going to mess with it! :) I need to set some aside to spin myself!
